My case is a wavemaster
Ive re-applied the heatsink's a few times applied new thermal paste etc?

TBH and i know this isnt the best way to do thing but with the heatsink i can actually get to the side of the IHS so i decided to put a digital thermometer agaist it and try prime i n blend to see the temps!

Now idle my Cpu reading via mbm5 and smartguardian are

idle 40oC load 62oC !!

Now the temps report from the thermometer

idle 32oC Load 37oC <---That temp actually started rising by 1 every second until it stopped there?

what could be wrong?

The temps in the centre of the core will be a lot higher than those on the edge of the IHS

But 62C is rather hot mind you.

right slightly dangerous but i can actually touch the IHS and it dont feel hot! if my cpu was running at 62oC surely my sink would be hot? and even the IHS would be? even around the side's i dowt its 62oC in the centre 37oC on the edge that's a 25oC difference?

True that is a big difference, I didnt do the maths there, but still one of the sensors has gotta be wrong.

Cant you test out the digital one of something you know the temp of.
