On Friday i ordered the Connect 3D 256mb X1800XT from ocuk because i was looking to upgrade from my X800 GTO2 and had seen good results from this card.

Just put the card in tonight and here are initial results at stock :D

My system is:

Opteron 144 @ 2.8Ghz
2 x 1GB OCZ 4000 VX
DFI SLi-D
Connect 3D 256mb X1800 XT

3dMark 2001 - 31346

3dMark 2003 - 16782

3dMark 2005 - 8953

3dMark 2006 - 4056

What people think of the stock results? Is it just me or do they seem on a par if not higher than what the 512mb X1800 XT's get??

Seem like cracking scores, in 01 for some reason i only get about 21k on my x1800 XT 512mb, which is hilarious as my previous card, x800 XT PE was getting about 25-26k lol, but my 03/05 scores are spot on, get about 15.5k in 05, and about 8.5k in 05, on a stock A64 3500+ 2.2ghz. :)

I get like 32.5k with an opty @ 2.7ghz... seem to just lose to your score in all the tests, except the nature test which I get about 100fps more....

At stock speeds that is not bad at all. With my 7800gt overclocked to the max i'll get 33k+ in 01, 17k+ at 03, 8300 or so at 05 and 4106 at 06. Your 05 score is very good compared to your others (at least compared to what i get). Maybe the X1800XT is better suited to newer games and effects than the 7800 family. What do you get on 06?

This is weird

Upped the core to 670 and memory to 850 and set fan speed to 90%.

Temperatures were really good.

I ran 3D mark 2005 and got just under 8k which is a 1000 less than when i ran it at stock!!

Help :(

Played around with my new X1800XT 256MB on Friday night after coming back from the pub. Probably not a good idea when I think about it now, as I was at a maximum level of social relaxation
Ran a few 3DMark tests and got this score in 3DMark03 apparently, - 18,952

http://service.futuremark.com/compare?2k3=4642673

The thing is I don't actually recall getting this score and was surprised when I logged into the results browser the next day. I think the project title hints at my reduced mental capacity as for some unknown reason I have typed AMD in there, don't ask me why  .

Also, I haven't actually managed to get this high again (about 17,100 max) and the details don't list what speed I had the card at. I am obviously a bit braver with the voltages etc, while under the extreme influence.
I might have to re-enact the experiment in exact details, god I am not looking forward to the hangover

1800xt has very strange clocking. If I run at 702x840 9500 3dmark05.

next time i try it crashes. then if i try 666x790 i get the same results in 3dmark05.

ATItool fails ive tried all different versions, Overclocker is pony and the CCC reduces the timings so whats the point.

I dont know whether im coming or going with card.

I was using ATI Tool 0.25 Beta 13 and it was working OK.
I have uninstalled that now and have been playing with the OverDrive feature on the CCC. Didn't know it relaxed the memory timings, that may explain my recent results.

Managed to get Ati tool and Overclocker to work now.

You need to disable Ati Smart and Ati Hotkey in service.msc then use overclocker to set the clocks and Ati to set voltage and fan speed.

Anyway heres results with 680/828
