X-com Apocalypse and XP

Has anyone managed to get this working running under XP? I’ve tried all sorts of guides but so far the closest I got was the intro movie and then it just locks up. Anyone here managed to get it running and got any tips for me? I’m really desperate to play this again. I’m even thinking of digging up and old machine just to play this again.

I found the exact same guide through Google when I wanted to play X-Com:Apoc and it worked a treat.
