I already have a 7800GTX 512Mb and was thinking of getting another one for SLi. Looking at the price its going to cost nearly £600 and there is a X1900 XT-X Crossfire bundle for just over £700 here.. (the top one)

Does anybody know if the X1900s in the bundle be quicker than two 7800GTXs (GX-064-XF) in SLi?

Im guessing your using a nf4 chipset rather than ati chipset. That means you will need a new motherboard with the ati chipset in order to run x1900 crossfire which will add to the price but then you could sell your old 7800 and board to cover it

Definitely go for the X1900 XT-X Crossfire bundle.
Will be faster & cheaper, as you can sell your 7800GTX 512Mb to fund the crossfire setup. :)

Conclusions

ATI CrossFire based on RADEON X1900 XT, 2x512MB is currently the fastest tandem of 3D accelerators for games.

It's sometimes outperformed by a similar duet of two GeForce 7800 GTX 512MB cards [Golden Sample cards from Gainward]. But on the whole, it's a tad more powerful. Besides, SLI operates at higher frequencies. CF will certainly look like a winner versus a regular 7800 GTX 512MB SLI.

** Note: NVIDIA GeForce 7800 GTX 512 SLI is represented by Golden Sample cards from Gainward, that's why the frequencies are 580/1760*MHz instead of 550/1700*MHz.
