Would this upgrade be justifiable?
And am i right in thinking i can use x2 on my current board by flashing the bios?

And before anyone says, yes, i am aware my board doesn't support SLi, im gonna perform the mod to allow this though.

AMD64 X2 3800

Personally, I say keep the CPU you have for a while, and grab a cheap 7800GT or another 6800. maybe more ram.

If you want the PC to last for a while, M2 is just around the corner, and the reason I holding off dual core.

Get the X2 3800+
then
Sell your current card & get the X1800XT 256 at just £194.95 +VAT
Much faster than 6800GT SLI & much faster than the 7800GT .

Well, depends mate.

Most games now are a lot less CPU intensive, also you can clock the 3200 a bit... especially if its a venice. My venice 3000 is at 2.8GHZ... so you should be able to go a bit higher.

Dual core is great, but games dont need it that much at the moment. I say grab the ram and card... OR wait a bit and grab the new geforce when that comes out...

Should be a nice upgrade, what with UT2007 & other dual core games coming.
