Upgrading to 2gb ddr

Would there be any performance gain in XP upgrading from 1gb ddr to 2gb ?
Is there anything to change eg cache file? Ta

Be smoother, and less paging to Hard Drive.
But its probably only noticable in games.

I didn't notice any performance difference in general Windows usage, but it made games like BF2 noticeably better

If you use lots of memory hungry apps you will probably find its better... If I'm doing music editing work I find it has made my PC a bit faster

you could consider getting rid of your swap file. There's a chance that you might get a couple of crashes if you're using very hungry apps/games but most stuff never touches the 2GB limit.
