I didn't notice any performance difference in general Windows usage, but it made games like BF2 noticeably better:)

If you use lots of memory hungry apps you will probably find its better... If I'm doing music editing work I find it has made my PC a bit faster:)

you could consider getting rid of your swap file. There's a chance that you might get a couple of crashes if you're using very hungry apps/games but most stuff never touches the 2GB limit.
