This isnt my problem but its a problem im having trouble working out:

a few days ago a mates pc wouldnt shut down, he turned it off by the mains and the next day it wouldnt boot

trying things now and from what he tells me it seems to occasionally get to the post screen, once or twice makes it to the windows loading screen

hes orderd a new graphics card thinking it could be that (the fan on his old card had died but i dont think thats whats causing the boot problem) and he needed one anyway

hes got 3 sticks of ram and i suggested trying just one incase its that but i cant think of what else it could be? any one have any good suggestions?

has he installed anything in the pci slots resently if so take it out then try booting. and with the memory tell him to try all 3 slots individually other wise sods law the one he would try would be the faulty one
