Silencer!

I am a complete noob when it comes to cooling, all i want is a quieter if not silent fan for my Imedia 1308 and any advice would be greatly appreciated.

do you mean a case fan? or are you thinking of changing the heat sink ?

the fans should be 80mm fans, but that is just what you get on most cases. some of them are now switching over to 120mm ones, but all u have to do is get out a tape measure and measure the length of them and that is how big u want it.

if you meant a new cooler then you should look into the artic cooler pro 64 thingy and you will be sorted.

Yeah its for the cpu need a new heatsink and fan got about £20 to spend so nothing fancy! also how do i find out what socket it is?

install cpu-z (google it) this will tell you the make and model of the cpu, from this you will be able to find out the socket for the cpu.
