I am looking to get a tft this week, but am unsure which one would be best out of:

Philips 200W6CS 20" Widescreen LCD Monitor - Silver (MO-015-PH) Price: £274.95 (£323.07 Including VAT at 17.5%)

BenQ FP202W 20" Widescreen LCD Monitor - Black (MO-014-BQ) Price: £269.95 (£317.19 Including VAT at 17.5%)

Acer AL2016Ws 20" Widescreen LCD Monitor - Black/Silver (MO-015-AC) Price: £239.95 (£281.94 Including VAT at 17.5%)

Belinea 102035W 20.1" Widescreen LCD Monitor - Black/Silver (MO-003-BE) Price: £279.95 (£328.94 Including VAT at 17.5%)

Viewsonic VA2012W 20" Widescreen LCD Monitor - Silver/Black (MO-051-VS) Price: £299.95 (£352.44 Including VAT at 17.5%)

or other option is to get 2 Acer AL1916W 19" Widescreen LCD Monitor - Black/Silver (MO-012-AC) Price: £154.95 (£182.07 Including VAT at 17.5%)

What I will be using them for:

* Learning C#
* Net surfing
* general office work
* Occasional foray into BF2 or similar games.

Before anyone asks reason for the 2 Acer monitors would be that I am self employed so would use one at home and then the other in my current work place, with a view to using both at home when this current contract finishes.

* Are the monitors all much the same or?

* What would you guy's spend your cash on and why?

regards,

Matt

P.S. Never done the 2 monitor thing so is it just a case of hooking both upto one card or?? Am thinking of getting a 1900xt or 1800xt would this be suitable?

I've just bought (literally, just placed order with OcUK) an Acer AL1916W (19" widescreen). When funds allow, I'm buying another for dual-screen goodness.

Check the post on the Acer AL1916W in this forum for more details.....

The 20" screens will have a higher resolution, and more features, like DVI and analog inputs etc etc, but almost double the price for an extra inch....

Baddass,

Thanx for that...

I think it's down to two choices now:

Viewsonic VX2025, Gibbo's just posted about a new price, or Philips 200W6CS.

The viewsonic looks a better monitor exteriorwise - phillips looks a little cheap in the pictures I've seen.

So come on guy's which one of thee two would you go for...

regards,

Matt

well the VX2025 is perhaps a little more well established since the P-MVA panel has been tested and reviewed more and was already implemented in the 19" models before it (VP191B, VP930 etC). The Philips MAY even use the same panel, we're not sure. There hasn't been much testing of this screen yet by review sites. Both are very good, and tbh performance is likely to be quite comparabale. It's a tough choice, but if you prefer the looks of one model, that might be a good way to decide since i think that is an important aspect of chooing the right screen
