Cheers Smids, trying to explain to someone on another forum that AMD and Intel clockspeeds cannot be compared directly. Guy was giving advice to someone to look for at least 3.0Ghz when buying either make

tell him to try any SuperPI test (1mb or above) with a equally clocked P4 and equally clocked opteron.
proof -my work P4 computer is clocked at 2.8ghz and scores 51 seconds for superPI
my home opteron 146 pc is clocked at 2.8ghz and scores 29 seconds
