1. Spend a few hours looking at threads about how cheap and great the 1900xtx's are
2. Spend a few hours looking at threads about how fantastic oblivion will look
3. Spend a few hours telling yourself not to be stupid and that your 850xt is fine
4. Spend a few minutes convincing yourself that you can sell stuff to make up for the financial outlay, so you're not realy being naughty at all
5. Spend a few hours drinking red wine to 'ease the decision making process'
6. Come home and spend a couple of minutes ordering powercooler 1900xtx being extra careful to input credit card details correctly.

I am weak! So one PC 1900xtx is on its way to me. Will be going straight under my maze4 water block (got some ram sinks with the order too). Now to find that stuff to sell....

hehe :p

The smart way :

1: i have no need to buy a x1900XTX or XT
2: Oblivion will work just fine with my X1800XTPE 512DDR card
3: DX10 isnt that far away
4: Vista is getting close
5: i know my x1800XTPE will last another 6 months
6: ati will release a dx10 card very soon and all you x1900XT/X users will suffer
7: 2 months after i bought my X1800XT the value droped from £411 to 230 to sell lol

and finaly, im gutted but im going to break a sweat and wait this time lol

X1800XT PE is a much quicker card than the X850XT, though.

Besides, ive decided i will be buying an X1900XT as well.
Should be a great buy, for the price. :)

(new mobo, CPU & ram too as it happens, maybe case & PSU as well)

Yeah but I could sell my 7800GTX for around £200 and the 1900XTX is about £300, so for a mere £100 I can have a card that will beat the 7800GTX hands down.

hahahahahaha....man thats exactly what I did. I got my x1900XT-x yesterday! Didnt really need it...cos I had a 7800GT before...but 300 for the fastest card on the planet with 512Mb...well not to be sniffed at really.
I gota admit...allthough I am a complete NVidia fan...and havent had an ati for a couple of years....the wisual quality I was playing FEAR and CSS last night was quite outstanding. 6xAA & 16xAF with all settings maxed out 1280x1024 (TFT monitor limited) looks real nice!
Dont feel guilty!

I have another problem. I've spent a long time sitting thinking how cheap it would be to buy an A8R32 and an XFire mastercard.

But I REALLY cannot afford another £500 at the moment after spending £1500 on a new rig just a month ago. And I REALLY don't need XFire at the moment.... It runs EVERY GAME PERFECTLY.

I'm so weak too:(, but I'm holding off.
