As is says on the lid - benchmark your TomTom (or other satnav system)

Route start - John O'Groats
Route end - Land's End
Use fastest route option, avoid toll roads (shouldn't be any)
Start your stopwatch when your device start planning the route, stop it when the device is 'Done' edit: ie after it's finished writing the route instructions
State TomTom version number, map version.

Qtek 9000 (aka Imate JasJar, Orange M5000 etc)
CPU - Intel PXA270 @ 520MHz
TomTom v5.210, map v605
memory card - Kingston Elite Pro 1GB
In portrait orientation - 1m26s
in landscape - 2m46s

Orange SPV C600
CPU - TI OMAP850 @ 195Mhz
TomTom v5.200, map v605
memory card - Kingston miniSD 512MB
2m13s

Tom Tom Go 700 Ver 5.420 & Maps Western Europe Ver 6.06.

76 Sec's to calculate and write the route on first run.

Powered off the TTG and re run the route as before this time 35 Secs so it must cache previous used routes.

T-Mobile MDA Vario/I-Mate K-Jam/Qtek 9100/Orange M3000
Tomtom Mobile 5
Unbranded 1Gb miniSD card
Unsure of the map version
A stonking 58 seconds (uncached!)

I'm very surprised as this phone is normally pretty slow at less than 200Mhz

Tap the GPS signal strength indicator in the bottom right corner, or go through the 'Change preferences' menu to 'Show version'

Heh! Opps, i didn't see the map version listed in there. I only thought it quoted the app version and that was it.

Ah well, on with the test....

TomTom 5.2
Maps 562
837Mile route....

But then this thread is rather old, so that's only fair that it doesn't take too long.
