Version Control Software

Does anyone know of any good Version control software preferably free/low cost for use by a small user base?

We use subversion (SVN) for projects invloving a handfull of people. It's certainly free but I don't know that much about setting up the server (I think it use apache). The client we use is Tortoise SVN which is really straight forwards to use.
