Why is it, that OcUK forums, never ever have these bloody annoying Casino bots / Porn spammer type thread starters ?
On one of my other forums I frequent, we keep getting the *******, and its really getting annoying. The mods do their best to delete it as soon as its posted, but the forums isnt as active as over here, so the posts sometimes stay there at least a few hours/ or a day.
These other said forum, also requires you to use a "non-joe public" email account.

Does OcUK ever get them, but the mods are quicker or is it something else ?

No swearing. You should know this by now. Re-read the FAQs

I think the requirements about what kind of email address you can register with probably stop such things. I seem to remember it had to be an ISP attached email address rather than a free account?

Most message board systems have an admin option to block certain bots that have visited. They show up on the "who's online" too.

I know at least Invision has this when I was admin at GTAForums.

Didnt know that word is a swear word

Totally depends in what context it is used, the word can have a meaning of being iiregular and odd.

Its also has a derogatory/swearing context, which was used in this thread.

Simple answer - moderated user registration, all accounts created here have to get past the automated list of banned addresses/domains*, then get past the admins who manually check every unrecognised domain used for the users registered email address :) (it also lets us vet user names etc).

It has the affect of weeding out a lot of potential problems early on (unfortunately it can also stop/slow down the registration of legitimate users).

*it's a mile long and added to almost daily (everytime we come across a new "hotmail" type service).
