Need some help with some a grammar problem please. I'm trying to understand the meaning of "subject" and "object" , I've tried Wikipedia but it's too hard to take in (for me anyway :p )

So I really just need a quick basic explanation.

Subject = Topic (Garmmar experts is the Subject of this thread)
Object = Physical thing (Go check a dictionary, the dictionary would be an object)

To be subjected; to subject bob to something.

To object; to raise concern regarding a matter

Grammatically:

Object -
1. A noun, pronoun, or noun phrase that receives or is affected by the action of a verb within a sentence.
2. A noun or substantive governed by a preposition.

Subject -
The noun, noun phrase, or pronoun in a sentence or clause that denotes the doer of the action or what is described by the predicate.
