Hello all,

I've got my mate with me at the moment, he's in the market for a new PC, he's looking too spend about £1800 (That would be the works, PC + Monitor + Keyboard + Speakers)

It would stop him coming to my house and stealing my PC for gaming  , so please any ideas would be fantastic.

Cheers Simon114 & Mate!

Better gfx card, IMO you don't need a seperate sound card unless you're into mixing etc. Plus IME the 2.1 speakers sound much better than the 5.1's and Acoustic Energy actually make speakers in the real world, unlike creative, logitech etc.

The only 2 things I would change from Monstermunch's recommendation is:

I would get the Geil Value 2gb Ram

and I would go for a 7900GT 512mb

Why a 7900GT??? a X1900 XT-X is better.
Did you mean to say GTX?

Anyways, if you dont want ATi go for a 7900 GTX is the same as X1900 XT-X but the 7900 will run cooler, less noise and take less power :D
