Hi

I've got a problem, tried to stick down the rub strip on my golf with some super glue which worked but I didnt notice the glue had run slightly because its transparent and light was'nt great, now I have 1 streak on the rear door.

How do I get this off?
Really appreciate any help.

I would be tempted to use nail varnish remover, it shouldn't be enough to attack the paintwork of the car. You had better look into it though before you go an ruin your car :).

It'll perhaps have etched the paint, as superglue contains a type of acrylic resin and it will have attacked the paint a little. Using pure acetone or a debonder will remove the glue, but it'll also remove the paint. As acetone can desolve acrylic, and I wouldn't be shocked if your clear coat is acrylic based.

How old is the car? and does it have a clear coat? If it's acrylic then you're going to have a hard time removing it.

Dunno mate. CA glue is rock hard, and very hard to remove from paint. Been there before... Sorry I can't help you.
