just got this motherboard today,havent had the chance to install it yet. do i need to update the bios for it to support the AMD X2 4400+?what software is included aswel?

It will work fine with the X2 without a bios update.

I think you get norton internet security included but i'm not sure as I haven't looked at the disc properly.

blue screens

hi all, the other day i randomly got bsods having switched the pc off for the night (dont normally switch it off) i put it down to cold boot issues. however 5 days on, im getting a lot of bsods (10 today so far)
a process / thread crucial to system operating has unexpected exited or been terminated

0x000000f4 (0x00000003,0x89932408, 0x8993264c, 0x80501140)

any suggestions

Check your bios, I find that when I get the cold boot issue that some things in the bios have reset, specifically the cpu vcore, and something everything is reset. Maybe something like that has reset giving you instability issues.

bsods mean you haven;t tested your pc properly for stability so your either getting memory errors or you cpu is not stable.

seen it all the time. people clock like mad and get into windows and assume that means its stable. :rolleyes:

HI M8, just to let you know that i purchased my setup about 5 months ago, and had bsods then (nothing overclcocked). the mobo was sent as it appeared defective (allother hardware was tested by engineer) its been ok, up until now. and its still not overclocked, so thats not the issue

like i said, its been ok for 3-4 months

Can anyone check device manager and tell me if your usb devices looks like this..

I have an couple of extra usb ports in there, but Im having a hell of a time trying to get my hp 1100 psc working on this board and also my digi camera.

i have those but i have one that says usb 2.0.
