2 x 6800GS Vs 1 x 7800GT

I'm upgrading my system, I've got roughly 300 quid to spend on graphic card(s), which will give me the better performance in games? eg. Age of Empires III, Planetside, X2, BF2 etc

2 * Gainward 6800 GS 256MB Ultra 2300 SLI Linked or
1 * Gainward 7800 GTX 256MB Ultra 3500

Motherboard will probably be EPox EP9NPA SLI with the fastest Athlon 64 X2 that I can afford at the time.

My main reason for upgarding is that I would like to run Battlefied 2 decently.

Would you not be better with a 7900gt or x1900xt.

You can get a 7900GT which will be better performance than both set of setups you suggested.

people that don't know whats better out of those two setups and that the third setup of the 7900gt is best, shouldn't be allowed those sorts of setups, especially to be able to run bf2 better than me when im a BF2 bitch to the floor.
lets hope he's limited to a 1024x768 tft

Yup for £300 i would get a single 7900GT, but if you fancy a go at SLI then you can get 2x7600GT

Id have gone for the x1800 XT, its cheaper and faster than the 7900 GT, but if your wanting SLi then Nvidias the way to go.
