DFI Ultra SLI DR advice

Hi,

I got these two accessories with my mobo, can someone kindly enlighten me as to what they are pls....

1) http://img84.imageshack.us/img84/1196/image1copy6tc.jpg (is it worth connecting this up as I believe its for easy access for usb and sounds ports??)

Don't know what that first one is but the object in the second photo is for taking out the jumper for SLI.

1st item is called frontX and fits in a 5.25" drive bay and is used for connecting the supplied mini 1394 socket, s/pdif, serial ata and diagnostic lights.

I notice you have the same mobo......have you connected this all up?? If yes could you kindly upload a piccie for me???

No, I didn't need it as my case has all the connections built in but the connections are all shown in the manual.
If you don't have a manual I am sure you can d/load a pdf file from the DFI site.

If you have problems let me know and I will scan it for you.

Sorry to hijack this thread, but i have a question regarding this board too.

Can you use the bottom PCIE (4) slot for graphics cards, and by doing so, does it have the same bandwidth as the top slot for a single card setup. In this case, a Radeon X1800XT.

As far as I know both slots give the same performance. I'm sure there's something about this in one of the FAQs on DFI Street.

The top pci-e slot when used in single card mode works at X16. To use the second pci-e slot you need to move the jumpers on the board to enable sli, both pci-e slots then share the X16 lane and work at X8 each. You can use just the second pci-e slot for a single card if you wish. There is still plenty of bandwidth when set to X8.
