Troublesome Seagate boot problem

Bought a Seagate Barracuda 7200.8 NCQ 300GB SATA a couple of months ago and
up till now it has been working fine.

Booted up the PC hung at the windows load bar but it did not freeze or BSOD it just got stuck in a loop at the windows load bar. The thing is I had partitioned the drive the night before.

Now I just bought a 400GB PATA drive (also a Seagate) and I am still getting exactly the same problem.

Now the system is fine as long as the drives are NOT partitioned but the moment they are divided into smaller partition sizes, it gets stuck at load again.

Now I’m using it on an A8N-SLI premium if that’s any help and I’m using a 74GB raptor as my system drive.

This is driving me bonkers :/

Any input?

sounds like they didnt like being partitoned afterwards....

if you had important stuff on them get a prog called BARTPE and boot it from cd, then run total commander.....this will let you go in and back up your info in the event you decide to reformat....

Oh yea and just to clarify always partition prior to a fresh xp installation

goodluck
