Essex, innit?
Basically I need (read want) SatNav in my car.

I don't like those chunky TomTom jobbies so thought a PDA would be neater (and possibly cheaper).

What/which do I need?

(I know nothing about PDAs...)

AS long as its got WM2003SE you should be fine with it, the tomtom software pack alone costs a bomb so you might want to consider that, in the end it will no cheaper than the standalone unit (but more flexible) and probably unreliable cos it will be running windows after,

you'll probably need to bluetooth as well to connect to a wireless receiver too

Look expensive :o

I'm looking at things on ebay for dirt-cheap prices... Am I doing something wrong? What do I need to look for? Will a £50 PDA not be good enough for SatNav?

Those are expensive because they have the gps reciever built into them, so you dont need to buy one extra. For a £50 pda though your looking at second hand and remember youll need to find one with blueooth as well. Gps isn't cheap ;)
