My car tried to crash itself

Took my car out and gave it a damn good spanking at lunchtime in the sunshine. Get back to work, park up on a very slight incline, put handbrake on (can anyone guess where this is going) and walk inside.

I get a call from reception 5 minutes later "your car had just driven itself into the building"

I go outside to find my car with one wheel resting on the curb and the numberplate apparently holding the car in place on the pavement. Reverse the car off with no apparent damage apart from an even more cracked number plate and a dent in my pride. Lesson learned, hot discs will cool down and your handbrake will fail. Next time I'll leave it in gear as well

Glad you got off so lightly!

As a footnote - it's bad to leave the handbrake on after using the brakes heavily anyway (if it actuates on the discs, of course)....heat soaks into that section of the disc and warps it pretty horribly.
