Are they all the same? Do i really need one? as far as I know it prevents 'flexing' in the chassis and stiffens something or other... how much and in what way would it affect the handling of the car (2003 civic coupe) ?

thanks in advance

It wont do a fat lot. May even affect it negatively.

If you want to improve the handling get the geometry done to a fast road setup.

Over there...
fitted one to my Celica TSport, which is pretty well setup in stock form, and... didnt really notice much difference.

If pressed i'd say it improved it in fast tight turns, but its probably a placebo effect.

End of the day, it cost me £75 2nd hand, is anodised to the same colour as my engine bay, and certainly didnt affect the car negatively - so all in i was happy.

Just dont expect wonders is all.

Right the simple answer to this is it ALL depends how good your car's chasis is in the first place. Some cars are stiff enough not to require them - generally thats modern cars

Older cars can very much benefit from them.
