Motorola V3 Owners - Text Message capacity

How many text messages can the Motorola V3 hold at any one time ?

I bought my girlfriend a V3 pink because her old phone was useless and couldnt save more than 10 messages at any one time. However the V3 doesnt seem much better at all !!

It seems to only want to save 30 odd messages despite there being plenty of free memory on the phone (2MB)? Is there any way of making it use the free memory or is it just crippled to only hold 30 messages ?

It seems to hold about 100 in total, including outbox, drafts, etc

Just delete those silly quick notes that are supplied on the phone and take up another 10 places.
