Hi, people.

I know very little about cameras firstly so take it easy :D .

I had a 2MP Casio exlim a few years back now, and that the extent of my knowledge. I have been looking for a new one to take to Thailand with me and the end on June. Things I'm looking for are-

Small
Light (in weight)
Good quality (obviously), but I'm no expert so it’s not that essential
Not to bothered about video
Good on close ups for a bit of ebaying.
And nice looking, if you cant be practical be flash, lol

That’s all I can think of, would be nice to have a mains charger for holiday too.

So far I've looked at the Sony's DSC-T5 & DSC-T1. Both look nice enough. But what are they like, is there others like these I should be looking at? Whats a good second hand price of either of those Sony's?

Thanks people.

Staly-Vegas!!!
Picked up a Canon Ixus 800is last week.
6mp, 4 X zoom (35-140), optical image stabiliser, Usable iso 400 (and 800 with Noise reduction), decent movie mode, nice big screen, compact, and uses SD (cheaper than Memory Sticks 2gb for £40)

Close Ups??

Very good looking camera (as far as camera's go )

If your gona get the sony, look at the W5 or W7, equally good, and better, allowing some creativity.
I have the W1 the original, and its never let me down.

Image quality is great, menus are simple, screen is massive, and its taken many impacts without a scratch.

I've just got the Ixus 55 for similar kinda reasons as you and it a little chunky compared to my dads Sony T1, so it looks weird when in your pockets.
Other than that its a cracker

Here are the sizes:
Ixus 65 = 90 x 57 x 20 mm
Ixus 55 = 86 x 54 x 22 mm
Sony T5 = 94 x 60 x 20 mm
Sony T1 = 91 x 60 x 21 mm

In my opinion those Sony's are really ugly!

Ordered a T1 from members market here on OcUK, boxed as new with extra bits.... 256 mem card, case, extra batt....... And the price £120 inc P&P.

Good deal you think?

How many pics can you get on a card of that size?
