My monitor blew up :(

For the past month or so, my monitor has had the occasional flicker, the sort of thing you get when its not plugged into the graphics card properly.

Then last night it started going mental, making this awful noise, and then sparks and fire started coming out of the bottom! If i wasn't around to turn it off it could have started a fire!!

Anyway, there goes the money i was saving for a new HDD and memory

I remember when my brother left a half full McDonalds cup above his monitor - which after a day or so began to leak and was dripping into the back of his monitor - which had a similar result.
