please help me all my music and films and most important of all p0rn is stored on my server

Its a gigabyte ga-7n400 pro

It powers up as normal all fans and harddrives kick in as they should (ones powered from mobo and direct from PSU)

It wont post
gives no beeps or errors or anything like that

what i have tried so far

swapping CPU
taking sticks of ram out and swapping them around
unplugging ALL drives from mobo
replacing CMOS battery

still nothing.

it has 2 sticks of twinmos (winbond) 256 pc3200
tried both and athlon thoroughbred 1800+ and a duron 650 oooold school

the pc does run fairly hot as i have it stored out of the way and never actually touch it it stays on 24/7
I came home oday and it was still running but dead.

The only thing that i havent tried is another GFX card as the only one i have is in my main pc and is watercooled so wouldn't be a 2 minute job to just try it

the GFX card in *** pc is an 8mb AGP jobby so i cant see that causing me any probs

suggestions ?

New mobo ?

Silly question, but are the CPUs you are testing the motherboard with, supported by the BIOS?

I had a right pain once. Bought CPU and mobo - appeared to be dead. Even RMA'd it. :o

It didn't occur to me until I got it back, it might need my (supported) CPU to upgrade it's BIOS.

I dont know wether the duron 650 is supported
but the athlon has been happily running in it now for about 2 years

Tried another psu?(and grab another old agp card just to be sure) but it sounds dead exact same symptoms of a board i rma`d.

PSU is ok evrything still powers up

board doesnt even give any beeps

although i am not sure it ever has
with the thing running pretty much 24/7 i dont get to hear it boot up

and i dont have another AGP card if i did i wouldnt have bought this one
would have just used the one i already had.

Next question is which mobo then I'll ask in motherboard forum.
