Basically I'm looking for piece of Windows-based software which will perform an initial full backup, and incremental backups thereafter.

Backups will be done once a month, give or take a week. The backup medium will be a hard-drive, once I get one sorted. In the meantime, I'm in research mode.

Opinions welcome!

Insert the XP Home CD-ROM.
Navigate to the VALUEADD\MSFT\NTBACKUP folder.
Double-click the ntbackup.msi file to install NTBackup

I use Acronis True Image - less than £20 if you look around the web. Very good programme and doesn't fill your machine with bloated crap like Norton Ghost does
