Layout help/critique

I've been tinkering with my site and trying to make it look a little more interesting, here are the results:-

As you can probably see the only difference between them is the navigation buttons at the top.

Which do you think fits better with the overall page?

#2, but if you're going to have fixed width keep it under 800px wide.

Number 2 is the nicest by far.

As said, keep it to 800 pixels wide ad you should be fine.
