Ok..for some reason i am getting CD key in use, i have original game and cd key, so i was wondering is there any chance i could buy a cdkey off of anybody on these forums? Im willing to pay a fair price.

Or if there is any fix for my problem please let me know.

Just re-enter the CD Key in the multiplayer options screen.

get in touch with activison or the other company that made cod2, youre not alone on this, lots of people get this

The below is a fix I found for this that worked for me

The problem was that the installer had created a registry key at HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE/SOFTWARE/Activision, and set the permissions that only the SYSTEM user could change it. So when I input my keycode in MP it was unable to save it in registry (which explains why it always disappeared. So I just gave full authority to the Administrator group on that key and voila it was fixed.

If you don't know how to do this:
Start->Run->type regedit->hit OK.
Find the key in the tree on the left side.
Right click -> Permissions... -> Advanced
Select the user/group in the list
Edit...
Put a check in Full control
OK->OK->OK
