Basically, I want to know what the catch is when you buy a phone from the onestop place and they offer you a free gift with your phone like an xbox 360? There has to be a catch, anyone know what it is? Cheers

Has anyone actually had any luck with claiming these 'free' consoles? If so, what did you have to do, or did it just get sent out automatically?

They send it to you after 28 days normally. All you have to pay is £35 p/m for 18 months, oh and have the worst handset out. So you could get the handset with 12 months free line rental or you could pay £630 (18 * 35) and get an xbox thrown in, lol.

Its a great deal go for it! Oh, and its only a core pack too, and there £160 on eaby!

Sorry to hi-jack your thread mate, but i was wondering. The offers which are like 3.99 per month line rental + free phone for a 12month period, can you cancel the contract after 12 months and keep the phone?

Overground, underground..
You should think of these deals like the interest free deals in shops.
If you really want or need the special offer item, then go for it.
But remember that the item on offer will usually be cheaper (sometimes, a lot cheaper) to buy in 12 or 18 months time.

Interest free hardly, but I know what you are trying to say. You pay for the Xbox or what ever per month, normally interset adds you to about £300 though.

everyone seems to also forget the fact that you dont pay £35 per month for just the phone and a free gift! you also get minutes and texts per month to use aswel !

i have seen some good tarifs too such as t-mobiles new flex-t tarif which is £35 per month + free phone + free gift, and yes they are 18 month contracts but remember you still get the minutes and texts to use each month

here we go an example from a quick search:

Phone - Sony W8101

Free Gift - Sony PSP Giga pack

Contract - Orange Canary 30

Minutes - 200 minutes plus 50 to orange off peak per month

Texts - 575 per month

18 Month Contract

£30 per month

now to me that seems a good deal ?

im sure the majority of you have contract phones where the bills are more than £30 a month ?

So that work out at £30 *18= £540 for the W810i and a psp giga pack.

Or

you could get this (you will have to cut a paste the link)

http://www.onestopphoneshop.co.uk/index.php?&B[0][next][0]=&B[0][tariff]=P30CC&B[0][handsetcode]=ORAW810IBLACK&B[0][giftcode]=N9199&deal=4&OSPS=84febe73ae8016b61b123c8bcd669283#

Thats (7 * £1.99) + (5 * £30) = £169.93

Explain how your is the better deal when your paying £370.07 for a PSP giga pack?

you do understand that that isn't a proper comparison, as its 18month vs 12months...
So u paying that "370.07" for PSP and 6months which equates to 190.07 for the PSP
however, you have to keep your phone for longer..which is how they make more money

i wasn't saying that was the best deal anyone could go for on the internet the message i was trying to get across is that you dont pay £35 a month for JUST a phone and a psp, what i was saying is that you still get quite a good tarrif for 18 months - im sure there are people out there that pay £35+ per month on their phone be it contract or pay as you go and thats without getting the freebies!

yes exactly you have to keep a contract for a minimum of 12 months anyway so the extra they will make would be the 6 months at £30 which is a total of £180 more than a normal £30 a month contract
