Don't ask me!!! Its them who 'frown upon them'. WHY do they object to their view of my johnson being interupted by a frankly quite reasonable barrier. Last time I had this problem was on a school trip where we had to get special dispensation.....SPECIAL DISPENSATION TO WEAR SHORTS!!!!

I might as well buy a display case and strut around in that!

The use of shorts also quite neatly avoids a one in one out situation.

Im still confused, are you saying someone won't let you wear shorts ?

Quite a few swimming pools and places I've been on the continent frown upon shorts... supposedly they're not as hygenic as speedos as they dont provide a complete barrier between the water and your "belongings"....

What I don't understand is that whatever you're wearing, they're not waterproof so surely it's a but of a null point.

Do they still require me to display my package to all and sundry or can I more descretely shroud it in a garment of my choosing. Or would they rather I cut out the middle man and nude up right then and there?

Speedos are what you should be wearing if you want to swim, they do not restrict your move nor add shed loads of drag, thus making it easier to swim. If you think your package is too small, and are embarassed to wear speedos, you can avoid swimming pools and stay in your bathtub. :)

Not just someone.....THE ENTIRE FRENCH NATION!!!!

(or at least last time I was there)

Well I go there often (no surprise really) - and I have yet to see anybody bar older men, and small kids with speedos on. All my friends wear shorts for swimming as do my male members of my family. Maybe you were stuck in a porno shot or something? Besides, there's nothing wrong with speedos if you're at the swimming pool - it's just tough embarassing all men around you that causes issues ;)

Or, wear speedos under the shorts...

Cunning!!! But then your just combining the disadvantages. Both drag and the cling film like constriction.

I haven't owned a pair of speedos since being a young child. I wear shorts for swimming now and have done for years. In France and out of France...

Thats good to know. I was afraid they'd had some kind of nationwide referendum to restrict peoples leasure time attire.
