Hi,
Got a Athlon XP 2500+ (Barton) running at 2700+ through an increase in the multiplier, at default voltage. according the the BIOS and MBM5 the CPU is running at about 63c

Is this dangersouly hot ? i'm using the a coolmaster Aero lite, is this a naff HSF ?

Big clue in the picture - Aluminium heatsink !

I'd look at replacing it with a copper based solution, say a thermalright. Then make sure you have your airflow through your case sorted out.

I had one of these clocked as a 3200+ at 2.2Ghz and it ran fine for 12 months at 45C - and that was with a Copper Q-tec cooler *SHOCK HORROR! :D *

It may not be good for the processors, but the don't lock up at those temps.

I've had XPs go up to 85C (where the BIOS turned it off) without locking up or any damage being done :) - I didn't do it intentionally before anyone comments. Although saying that, it is too high, yes - get a better heatsink (gigabyte g-power pro i suggest if you want a really good result).
