Hi All,

An engineer in work wants me to find an external USB 2.0 hard drive thats small enough that its portable but also, being an engineer, he can clumsily accidentially drop it or bump it on occasion and it'll still work.

I was wondering if anyone has any recommendations ? It wouldn't have to be a massive one, I wouldn't think any more than 40gb.

Cheers,

hmm tricky one, all i can think of is getting say a 4gb usb pen ??

as all hdd will have moving parts so being dropped = bad idea.

HDDs can take a bit of a ding when not in use, but its still not recommended lol.

If he doesn't need huge amounts of space he could go for a 4GB USB as already suggested. Samsung has also released a 30GB Flash HDD... all you would need to do is get a notebook to PC convertor and shove that in an enclosure... although there isnt always a lot of room in HDD enclosures to be sticking cables in lol.

LaCie now do a ruggedized 2 1/2" external hard drive with USB 2.0.
I think maximum capacity +/- 100Gb.

Look on their website!

Hope this helps
