Hi all,

I have two accounts on my pc, one which is the computer administrator for me, and a limited account for everyone else. How do I enable file security so I can prevent some folders from being accessed by the limited account, without having to move them to the users profile?

Thanks

untick simple file sharing and set the ntfs permissions for the folders or files, remove all permissions from it and set only the username you have to access it

-edit, simple file sharing option is in explorer, Tools, Folder Options, View, (scroll to bottom)

-on XP Pro only iirc

quite handy if you store a lot of music or video on your pc, can set all users (including yourself) to read only, just incase someone drags a file to a different folder by accident , and only give the main administrator full access when you need to add more to it..
