Hi i'm looking to upgrade and change my machine, used for gaming and video edditing and was drawing up a list of what I thought would be good to have. The budget is around £1000.

any thoughts on the selection that i have chose so far. Prices are from OC,
I havent decided what case yet. I was thinking of trying watercooling for a quiet machine but not sure if budget can stretch to that.

Many thanks for your time. Smee

Looks a good machine my friend, personally I would go down the watercooling route, you have said you may not be able to budget for it now, well run it on air for a few months until you can, it will do it no harm, but when you can finally afford watercooling it will complete the setup and make it nice and quiet.

Do you intend getting a sound card or not? Its not clear from your post, you say part of its use is for gaming, so I would certinally give it some thought.

Do my eyes deceive me or have you managed to get the 400gb seagate for free?!

Also I probs would have chosen the Arctic Freezer 7 cooler over the Zalman. It's cheaper as well :)

I'd probably suggest an X2 based system as they will be cheaper normally due to the price of the Ram and motherboard. For instance this system contains most of the same basic components but with a better graphics card and the CPU is highly overclockable but costs over £100 less. It isn't AM2 but it currently doesn't offer any real benefits unless likely to upgrade again soon.
