What do "old" Xbox games look like on 360?

Just a couple of Q's regarding Xbox 1 titles:

Do they come up in 480p scaled to 720p or does the 360 change its output on the fly to 480p?
Do they stretch to a 16:9 widescreen ratio or keep 4:3 with black bars down the side?

Depends on the game really, something like DOA3 looks stunning in 720p. Other XBox games look and play exactly like they do on the XBox.

its a pity games(like Black for example) that were going to be released on or after the 360's release date werent tested for compatibility on the 360(and tweaked so they did work) before there release.

Halo 2 text looks dodgey due to FSAA and the aiming reticle is a bit dodgey too. Infact the whole HUD is a bit off :p

That's what you get with emulation though.

I'm still waiting for 'Oddworld: Strangers Wrath' to get an update for the 360 (I don't have an original XBox, and bought this assuming it would be 360 compatible!! :o).

Halo 2 looks next gen anyway, it looks worse on 360 than on original xbox.
Not sure I'd say it looks next gen, but good none the less.

I guess I'm in a minority about Halo though - I've never really though they were anything special (sorry!!).

Never played Halo2 on the Xbox, so it looks great to me :)

I've got Jade Empire and Forza on my rental list, so I'll know about them soon enough.

Black works now - it was included in the latest compatibility update.
