Well done, 3663 is not a bad effort at all. WTF have you been up to? :D

Set a restore point first and then let RM do it's stuff. I would also suggest that you do a registry dfrag followed by a hard disk defrag afterwards.

Good luck.

How can they be done ;)

I get numerous errors from a previous installation of "Visual Studio"... not uninstalled properley, as it comes up with errors on quite a few things...
.

Its not been fixed with RM, so, what else is there :p

Registry Mechanic should have an option to defrag *** registry if not do a search for NTREGOPT which is a free tool. Windows defrag is under accessories.

You could try CCleaner that should help find and delete those redundant entries, use the Fix Problems option. You could slao try Wintools.Net who have a trial that should throughly purge your registry of crap.

I think it is on the cleaning section 'Fix Problems' or something. I would post a screenshot but I am on my Mac at the mo, which doesn't have a registry! :p

CCleaner is excellent BTW.

Also, should I SELECT any of the "programs" Applications such as windows media player, they are all selected but shall I take them off?

Thanks! I presume I click analyse then run cleaner

Clicked "Analyse" come up with 916mb to be removed!!!

915mb has been removed, it was fine, not noticed a diff yet, but the PROBLEM HAS BEEN SORTED!!!!

What the hell clicked "run cleaner" :p Removed 915mb.....

Went fine, erm, whats the "issues" tab for, is it safe to use?

Don't bother with analyse, just Run Cleaner to delete the crap you don't need.
Then click on Issues and run the Fix Problems option. It will ask you if you want a back up, I never bother.

CCleaner is very safe so no worries there.

Don't clear the pagefile on shutdown as it then takes ages to do so.

Did CCleaner find the redundant reg entries?
