Just spoken to a mate who lives abroad who has just got his first broadband bill. he wasnt in the best mood as his bill was quite hefty, he likes to download. infortunately the broadband companys fineprint included that each (over the 1gb cap) 100mb of data downloaded will be charged at 1.23 euros  .

anyway turns out he downloaded quite a bit this month, :o
*cough* 23GB *cough*

This came to a total bill for the month at 380 euros  :(

he is GUTTED :(

what do you guys make of it?

Edit: £260.00 (for those who want to know)

Hey, I am the mate in question here.

I live in Portugal and my ISP (Sapo) charge 1.50 (including tax) per extra 100mb of International Traffic.

I used 23GB of extra traffic (downloading films) and it came to the total cost of 350 Euros (£240) on top of my monthly fee.

I could have gone out and bought all of the films on DVD for cheaper!

But there is nothing I can really do except pay the bill...(Paypal donations welcome :p )

So yeah, always read the small print carefully (even if it is in Portuguese  )

I thought it was 1.50 per GB not 100MB :o

Maybe next time you will just buy the film anyway ;)
