I'm assuming that it's just going to need a reboot of the modem to pick this up?

Aye, normally the modem wil auto-reboot once NTL send the new config file to it, but sometimes you have to force it.

Oh my,just rang ntl to look into cancelling my broadband and they fell over backwards to keep me.
I was on 2mb,now they are giving me a seperate modem to the set top box and upgrading me to 10 mb for £17.49 per month for 12 months with the proviso to ring up in 12 months to see what they will offer then.
And if thats not all they also offered to give me a £10 discount per month off the full tv package i have, not a bad mornings work.

Nice work - I thought me free phone calls (evenings and weekends only) and a £5 per month discount was OK, but you got good haggling skills!

The tier migration pages are now saying that the 2meg folks are on a 4meg package, so some sort of process has started.

The actual speed upgrade might take a while though to hit everyone.

Phooey, just rang ntl and they told me that I have been upgraded to 4mb today :D only problem is I don't think the ntl modem we have can cope, it's the original motorola surfboard modem :( , hopefully the modem just needs resetting but I can't check till I get home tonight :(

Anyone know if this modem can cope?

EDIT: In case no one knows where I am, it's Leicestershire.
