im on NTL 2mb cable

i was previously quite happily getting 240ish kb/s. Now tonight im only getting 90 or so, no matter what website i visit, including ones i knew i get good speeds from

ive disconnected and re-connected, and no change

and theres1 no logged onto my AP leeching my bandwith either.

anything else to try ?

*edit*

just logged onto NTLworld and im on NTL 4mb apparently

which i means i should be getting 500 kb/s

when did this happen ? ive never got more than about 240kb/s

I'm in the same boat, we (Leicester) were supposed to have been upgraded to 4mb by 6.00 this morning and according to ntl we have been. Me thinks someone down the line is telling porkies. Can';t check my d/l speed as I'm using utorrent at the mo so any speed would be wrong.

if you want to check what speed youre modem is connecting at and there for the speed you should be able to download at goto http://192.168.100.1/ username and pass "root" then goto "Operation Configuration" and check your "Maximum Downstream Data Rate" this works with the silver ambit modems

My connection just started dying about 45minutes ago. Been to the NTL config page and it says i'm still 2mbit. Just ran a speedtest and my download is slower than my upload :(

Speed Test Results
Downstream 82.9 Kbps ( = 0.1 Mbps )
Upstream 158.9 Kbps ( = 0.2 Mbps )

Hope this clears up soon.
