Is there a noticable difference?

I heard its just a 17inch tft with bits on the side. Has anyone got any pics of comparison or some dimensions (like 40cm x50cm).

Thanks!

Thank you hamish!

Could I please have a close up of the 2 monitors side by side. That would help loads :).

I saw the apple cinema display (20inch) in a purple PC shop and it was not as big as I expected, but my 17inch was not there for comparison.

I just went from a 19" CRT (18.1 visible) to a 20" wide TFT. The tft doesn't look bigger until I turn it on, at which point there seems like a helluva lot more desktop to play with!

dimensions for comparison (try drawing them to scale on a bit of paper or something perhaps?

16:10 wide

h=10.6
w=17.0
d=20.0

Regular 4:3

h=10.2
w=13.6
d=17.0

I'm thinking about making the same switch, 19 crt to 20 widescreen tft, so im glad its noticably better.

Does not look that much bigger...Hmmm

Thanks mate!
You should see each screen with a webpage or something open in similarly sized windows, or photoshop, or two documents side by side...also games seem rather nice too (after 5 minutes playing) even if some of them basically zoom in and lop chunks off the top/bottom (BF2). The vx2025 is VERY bright compared to my iiyama VMpro454 I think, needs a little taming ;)!
