In my asus A8N SLI premium there are 2 plugs for LAN
NV lan and Marvell Lan

I wonder that are the different? between those 2? which is more stable?

I m using Marvell one at the moment ... then i try to change it to NV .. all the download are stop... once it change it back to Marvell it works fine.

please advice (all lan expert)

They should both be Gigabit ethernet and provide nearly the same speeds. NV has however proven to be the trouble one out of the lot these days with their lost packets and firewall issues.
I'll just stick to the Marvell one.

Edit: Just a thought. With your two Ethernet ports you can dedicate that PC to become a powerful 2 port router and firewall through Linux. That will be good!

At the price, you could buy a decent Cisco and still be in profit.

The nVidia on mine (A8N-SLI Premium the same) has been fine (though I'm not using GigE, yet). Never even tried the Marvell.
Most reviews I saw showed the nVidia getting similar throughput but with lower CPU usage.
