American Lights in UK ??

hey guys, just recieved a gift from the lass next door, its a set of lights, like christmas ligts, 10 bulbs in series.

they have an american 2 pin plug fixxed on them, and on the plug it says 125V
what should i do to get them to work on our 230V(i think ?) 3 pin pulgs?

Damn theyre a bit pricey !
i take it shoving 230 volts thru em is not gonna do any good? but theyr 'only' christmas lights
it is quite important... theyre 8-ball lights lol, and i collect anything 8-ball :)

If you like fireworks plug em into our mains, otherwise don't bother.

lol. well if you have the gutts you can make one out of a magnes and loadsa copper wires. but then again... not worth it.


do the lights flash? or are they static?

is the connecter like a big black heavy box? if so whats the output of it?

make of that what you will ! the yanks are very descriptive lol.
the lights are all in series and on end of the series goes into the live, the other end into neutral. one big loop with the plug in the middle

unscrew the head and then get a few of the wires and poke them into each of the 3 holes.




...no guarantee of health or that lights will work

dont get me wrong mate, i like a good joke now and then... but we could be dealing with a potential house fire here lol.

looks liek that damn cheap gift has turned to a damn expensive problem then. ill try and source an adapter cheaper than £20 !!

okay so ive just thought of the best idea yet lol... take the 8 balls off and stick them on a cheap set of british lights !, theyre just the standar size christmas light bulb !
