Im replacing my engine mounts so need to buy some new ones

Quick price check..

renault want £137 inc vat

ECP want £101 inc vat

GSF don't even do them!

Do these prices seem right? they seem very expensive to me!

Personally, upon reading those prices, I thought they seemed quite cheap for engine mounts.

I'm especially surprised at the "cheapness" of the main dealer parts, I would have thought they'd try to charge something near £200 or something silly!

Hmm, sound a bit too expensive to me, going on the fact that Ford Anglia and Mk1 Escort ones new from the motorfactors (yep they're still listed) are only £15 each. I take it you're changing them yourself? At the local motorfactor I'd expect them to be a bit cheaper than that.

I might well be wrong though, I don't know much about 'new' cars ;)

I'm not sure you can just buy the rubber inserts AGW, I think they come as one bit.

Tried Euro Car Parts for the mounts MrMatteh?

Which ones you buying, i bought a few for my valver.

£75 for the offside top one, the main one, and £35 for the dog bone mount, the stabiliser mount on the gearbox.

They arent cheap things :(

the rear is the dogbone one..

looks like a pork chop :p

its only an 8v 1.8 clio, so not chucking out massive amounts of torque ;) this is what confused me about the price

It really needs to be done though, the play in the engine is huge.

Also, this has caused my manifold to crack and as im replacing it, need to do the mounts to stop it cracking again

p.s. 1000 posts \o/

Yeah try the factors then.

When you say play do you mean the engine is moving a lot when revving etc? Are you noticing any vibrations? Also is the gear stick moving when you rev? Maybe it's just the dogbone that needs doing?

yes, the whole engine moves as well as the gear stick

if you floor it, you can feel the massive jerk it makes

I've also been told by several places (including a clio specialist i was at today) that my mounts are gone :)

gearbox mount for my 16v golf (from ECP) was only £24. £100 seems a lot.

the gearbox one is about that iirc...

its just the other two that are expensive.. £51 for the OS and £28 for the near side (or thereabouts)
