what would you change? Don't want to go over 1k really. Selling my current PC for 500, so for a 500quid pc it seems an ok step up from what I have atm.

I know someones going to say psu, so for the record, make it one that isnt any more expensive ;) And No stupid 600watt-1100wattage psu's because the system would hardly chug that out. I doubt a 580 is needed?

Thoughts?

As far as I am aware all parts are compatible, you probably don't need the X-Fi because onboard sound is pretty good now so I'd put the money into a better graphics card maybe although that does depend on what monitor you have currently.

A 580w PSU will offer more than enough power for your system as specified there. The case I'd also think about changing as I think it is ugly but that is totally personal preference :)

Monitor is a dell flatscreen CRT :D Runa t 1600x1200 atm, just wanted something that could do that res with some glory. ALthough I am really considering an xt-x and maybe a 20inch widescreen lcd.

X-fi I've wanted for a year now, but then again I have z-5500's and want to do them some justice.

As for the case, first time I saw i fell in love, either that or a Gigabyte aurora :p

Cheers people :)

mmm, just found a 7900gtx 512 for £309.93 so I think might do that. Will obviously do some research. Who knows what might be on the MM by then though ;)

Also, might add a 20inch widescreen tft, Wanted one for ages, this crt is showing signs of suicide now, found one for 300smackers too.

That's a good deal on the GTX m8 :) I would def go for that! I'd be having a good old fashioned drool over the 20" Widescreen :D

Nice kit, but as toxic mentioned, unless you intend to go SLI at a later stage don't bother with the SLi MoBo.

mmm, ok I'm having a bit of trouble :)

Over to you guys, spec me an am2 dualcore with a 20"widescreen x1900xt and 2gig of ram, about 200gb of hdd space, a dvd drive and an xfi :).

Fulltower + monitor.

About 1.2 or under if you can ;)? I've managed 1.35 with a few "nice" things, ie a p180 in silver and a 70quid psu :x (From a competitor).
Or am I being too unrealistic?
