I've never been able to get HDWMV acceleration working on my AGP 6600GT. At one point (near its release) it worked, but the audio lagged. In the 77.77 drivers they "fixed" this by seemingly disabling hardware acceleration. Great. Audio is now in sync, but video is so slow and choppy it's unwatchable.
The official line for this was:

Going back to early 2005, you can see that HDWMV decode acceleration is definitely advertised as a full feature of the AGP 6600GT:

However on the current version of the page:
http://www.nvidia.com/page/purevideo_support.html
You can see that under all the PCI-E GPUs there is a row for "WMV9 Decode Acceleration" however this is now mysteriously missing from all AGP GPUs.
I've tried emailing them but have got no useful response (only responses being to a chase up support ticket and them marking my original one "Solved" with no response). I've had a support ticket on there for coming up to 2 months now.
Anyone else noticed this? Can they just pull a key selling point of their product with absolutely no notice?

GeForce 6 Series/GeForce FX Series, AGP, Windows XP: Audio sync
problems occur playing WMV9 files using Windows Media Player 10
with the Microsoft patch for DirectX VA WMV9 acceleration.
The problem occurs only in VMR mode and not in overlay mode.
