sb live card still works when powers off

A few weeks ago I had my video pluged into the line in of my sb live card, and the sound was still comming out of the speakers when i had shut the pc down :confused:

Sounds normal to me, the speakers are seperately powered right?

yeah,,,but I would have thought it whould need some cpu power and drivers to work?

To do what, its not doing any work. You could connect the wires directly and it would sound the same and thats all its doing

The line is powered by your video source and the sb card will convey the signal to the powered speakers without any extra power needed. I doubt you could stop that happening even if you wanted
