Welcome.

My first car was a classic, owned nothing but since :D

And yes, very easy to live with each day and you can extract so much enjoyment from them in daily use, especially when other people love 'em.

One tip though - buy a good one - and not one you have to stab holes in with a screwdriver, buy the best you can afford and then start to modify it. Much more satisfying to roll with the changes and update it as you drive :)

26 == practically dead :(

I know of a shed full of rusty old MGAs, TCs and TDs if that takes your fancy ;)

HT

That sounds like my old boss's barn. He had every car that he'd ever owned in it. iirc there was mini coopers, healeys, mgb's,mgc's,spridgets and even a very nice 70's Escort mexico.

OT, I used to be a real car nut. I was always doing something to a car but, now I don't even want to drive one! :(

Try reading an organisational behaviour theory by a chap called Maslow.
He put forward this idea of 5 levels of a human for their satisfaction.
Part way up that is an element of "ego", which is where the max power brigade turns up. At the top of his pyramid is the idea of "self actualisation", whereby people do things for their personal satisfaction, whether it is climbing Everest, running a marathon, or restoring a rust wreck.

Thats the proper 70's colour imo and it looks great.

It is a bit scruffy (upclose) though which means a reasonable price may be had prehaps.

How reliable are those engines?

Check this 240z out

Balls to the 160z - too big and heavy.

Lower, fit 13x7 Lotus Excel alloys and an SR20DET.

INSTANT WIN!

I was looking at that last night, always like the 120Y myself though they do look a bit awkward from certain angles.

No, I think I want a Viva. Or a Magnum. Or a Chevette. Or maybe a Firenza. Or what about a Manta?

I haven't had a Vauxhall in years, it must be a cyclical thing.
